CYRC

The Caregiving Youth Research Collaborative (CYRC) is a US-focused research network that aims to advance understanding of the lives of youth caregivers and their families. A 2005 national study caregiving youth in the US estimated between 1.3 to 1.4 million youth fall within the category of “youth caregiver” – people between the age of 8 and 18 who provide care for a family member in or near the young person’s home. Experts believe that today’s numbers could be as much as six times the 2005 estimate.

CYRC members work in higher education and clinical practices across the country with interdisciplinary professional expertise spanning the sciences and humanities. Our ‘people’ page will help you identify and contact researchers and practitioners working in your field of interest.

If you would like to inquire about becoming a member of CYRC, please contact Dr. Elizabeth Olson or Dr. Connie Siskowski.
